App Redesign: Ventra
a Chicago transportation app
The Ventra app is the only mobile ticketing and transportation method for the city of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.
Research
How might we redesign the Ventra app to make the experience of commuting in Chicago more easy and stress-free for college students?

Created a Google Form to create a survey to gain insights on how college students feel about the usability and experience of using the Ventra app. This form was posted to 4 university Reddit pages.

Web Dev Internship: Prairieland Feeds
Prairieland Feeds is a pet supply store located in Savoy, IL
Prairieland Feeds was looking for a website development intern to regularly maintain their website and add new elements to increase customer experience.
Client Meetings
Held once a week on Zoom where we discussed:
- New concepts to add to website design
- New pages
- Coupon pop ups
- Banners with important messages
- Usability and customer experience with the website
- Feedback on my mockups related to the ideas from the store owner
- Ask questions and report any issues with the WordPress site
I was always prepared with a Google slides presentation to give a visual agenda to the Prairieland Feeds team. This included my interface designs and guided questions.

Changes

- I created the page for their Frequent Buyer Program
- I created the green banner highlighting this program on every page
- I added the store address and hours to their header so it is very easy to see

- I created their first contact us form and page

- I created their first brand gallery with clickable links so that customers can learn more about the suppliers and choose the company that is best for their animal
Design Sprint: SDOH & Place
2 days of brainstorming and designing for SDOH & Place which is a free platform that provides access to databases for health equity.
“SDOH = Social Determinants of Health”
Persona

- Conducted competitive analysis to see how geospatial data is presented
Prototyping
an example of a page that was created was the search results

- Used competitive analysis to help choose design elements for this page
- Made sure to keep usability at the forefront because the persona called for a beginner friendly platform
Website Creation: HFES UIUC Chapter
Communications Director for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Problem Statement
I suggested the creation of a website because I noticed that there was a lack of a static communication source. There was no set location for students to go to for information. Most organizations have a website and an Instagram page for communication and HFES was lacking both.
Website Layout
Important content:
- Membership
- Contact form
- Illinois chapter mention
- Link to National HFES website

Creative content:
- Our 3 pillars of values
- “Who we are”
- Welcome message
- Upcoming events
